Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional, behavior specialist, or similar school-based support role
  • Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and best practices
  • Ability to implement individualized student plans with guidance from teachers and specialists
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional certification or training in behavioral support is a plus
  • Strong teamwork mentality, adaptability, and a genuine interest in student success

Responsibilities:

  • Support students one-on-one or in small groups to promote positive academic and social outcomes
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviors and engaging students
  • Implement and document behavioral plans under the supervision of special education and intervention staff
  • Collect data on student progress and contribute to individualized education plans
  • Model positive behaviors and encourage self-advocacy in students
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning atmosphere
