Key Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar school support role
• Familiarity with special education settings and comfortable with 1:1 student engagement
• Adaptability to assist students exhibiting a variety of behaviors, including those requiring behavioral intervention strategies
• Ability and willingness to undertake toileting and personal care support as needed
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized assistance to a student with special needs throughout the school day
• Provide behavioral support and employ de-escalation techniques as appropriate
• Assist with daily living tasks, including toileting and other personal care needs, ensuring student comfort and dignity
• Document student progress, share observations with educators, and participate in team meetings as required
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
