Instructional Aide in Los Angeles, CA

Step into a rewarding role supporting students and making a real difference each school day as a Bus Aide for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide critical 1:1 or 2:1 assistance to students as they travel to and from school, ensuring their safety and comfort on the bus. Flexible, part-time hours are built around the typical morning (6:30–8:30 am) and afternoon (2:30–4:30 pm) commute, totaling 10–15 hours per week depending on assigned routes.

Ideal candidates may come from a paraprofessional background or hold Certified Nursing Assistant credentials. Previous experience supporting special needs children, strong verbal de-escalation abilities, and familiarity with riding the bus in a school environment are especially valued.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience as a paraprofessional, bus aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant
• Previous work supporting children with special needs
• Skilled in verbal de-escalation and managing challenging situations calmly
• Reliable and punctual, with commitment to consistent attendance
• Flexibility to work during both morning and afternoon hours
• Willingness to complete required fingerprinting (with reimbursement available) and onboarding processes

Role responsibilities:

• Ride in the vehicle with students to and from school, accompanying them on their daily commute
• Safely assist students throughout their journey, maintaining a supportive and watchful presence
• Communicate effectively with students, drivers, and school staff
• Provide care and de-escalation as needed
• Adhere to all reporting and onboarding requirements
