An education service district is currently seeking over 50 dedicated Bus Aides to support students for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year in the Los Angeles, CA area. This position is a contract role designed to assist K-12 students with special needs during their daily transportation to and from school.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Approximately 3 hours per day, totaling 15 hours per week
  • Hours: 90 minutes in the morning (between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.) and 90 minutes in the afternoon (between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.), times vary by site
  • Duration: January 5, 2026 – May 29, 2026, with potential assignments during Extended School Year (ESY) and continuation in August for the 2026-2027 school year; strong chance of contract renewal
  • Caseload: 1:1 or 2:1 support on the bus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ride with students on bus routes to provide supervision and support
  • Accompany the school bus driver to pick up and drop off students safely
  • Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques and behavioral support strategies
  • Work directly with students who have special needs, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport
  • Prior experience riding the bus with a student is preferred

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors patiently and effectively
  • Background working with special needs students is highly desirable

Work Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA, in K-12 school settings focused around Denver and Northern Denver areas
