This contract position provides a consistent, predictable schedule with a strong likelihood for renewal into the extended school year and the following academic cycle.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Background as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Previous experience supporting children with special needs, ideally in a bus or transportation setting
  • Verbal deescalation skills to calmly manage challenging situations
  • Comfortable with caseloads ranging from 1:1 to 2:1 (student to aide ratio)
  • Reliable attendance and a caring, team-focused mindset

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ride with students on buses to and from school, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Attend morning and afternoon bus shifts (approximately 90 minutes each), averaging 15 hours per week
  • Get picked up at the student’s school, assist in transporting the student from home to school in the morning, and follow the reverse process for dismissal in the afternoon
  • Foster a positive, supportive environment for students during transportation
  • Collaborate with drivers and school staff to provide seamless care

This opportunity is ideal for those seeking a flexible, part-time schedule that aligns with school operations. The contract runs from January 5, 2026, to May 29, 2026, with a strong chance for renewal for summer and the next school year. Positions are concentrated in and around the Denver area, particularly in Northern Denver.
