This opportunity seeks experienced aides to support students during their transportation to and from school. The role involves accompanying students on school buses, ensuring their safety, and providing specialized assistance as needed. The position is contract-based, running from January 5, 2026, through May 29, 2026, with a strong possibility of renewal and additional work during the extended school year (ESY) and the following school year.
Key Details:
- Location: Denver, CO, primarily Northern Denver and surrounding areas
- Schedule: Approximately 3 hours per day (15 hours per week), Monday through Friday
- Hours: Morning shift between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM (90 minutes), afternoon shift between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM (90 minutes)
- Assignment: 1:1 or 2:1 caseload assisting students on school buses
- Start and End Dates: January 5, 2026 – May 29, 2026, with ESY and August return anticipated
- Number of Openings: 50+ positions available
Responsibilities include riding with students on the bus for both morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off, assisting drivers in safely transporting students, and using strong verbal de-escalation techniques when necessary. Experience working with special needs children and familiarity with bus routines are highly preferred.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, Bus Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially verbal de-escalation
- Comfort and experience working with special needs students
- Ability to remain attentive and supportive throughout the bus route
