Instructional Aide in Los Angeles, CA

Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Bus Aide for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity offers a chance to make a direct difference in students’ daily experiences, ensuring safe and supportive transportation to and from school. With 6 positions available, this role is ideal for compassionate individuals who thrive in school environments and have a background as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant.

Ideal Candidates Bring:

• Experience working as a Paraprofessional, Bus Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant
• Comfort and skill supporting special needs children
• Strong verbal de-escalation abilities and a calm, reassuring demeanor
• Prior experience riding with students on a school bus, either 1:1 or 2:1
• Flexibility to handle morning (6:30 am - 8:30 am) and afternoon (2:30 pm - 4:30 pm) shifts, with total weekly hours ranging from 10-15 depending on the route
• Willingness to complete onboarding requirements, including an in-person class

Core Duties Include:

• Riding in the vehicle to and from school as a support for the student(s)
• Meeting at the school in the morning, then accompanying the driver to pick up the student at home, and returning with them to school
• Reversing this process at dismissal for afternoon drop-offs
• Attentively caring for the needs of the assigned students during transport
• Communicating clearly and professionally with drivers and school staff

This contract runs from late August through early June, with a strong likelihood of renewal for future school years. Candidates may also have the opportunity to continue supporting students during ESY and for the following year.
