If you are passionate about supporting students with special needs and have experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant, this contract opportunity could be an excellent fit. Six openings are available for Bus Aides serving students for the upcoming school year, with morning and afternoon shifts offered. The assignment runs from late August 2026 through early June 2027, with a strong possibility of renewal and opportunities for summer session work.

What we’re looking for:

• Prior experience as a school Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant
• Experience working with children who have special needs
• Familiarity with riding the school bus with students and supporting them during transport
• Verbal de-escalation skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
• Commitment to professionalism and reliability
• Willingness to complete onboarding processes and an in-person training session before beginning work
• Candidates able to work weekday mornings (6:30 am to 8:30 am) and afternoons (2:30 pm to 4:30 pm), 10-15 hours per week depending on route assignment

Key responsibilities:

• Ride with students on designated routes to and from school
• Ensure student safety and comfort while on the bus
• Support the driver and act as a liaison between the student and transportation staff
• Manage 1:1 or 2:1 caseloads and provide attentive support throughout each trip
• Employ de-escalation techniques when necessary and maintain a positive, secure environment
• Remain punctual and communicate promptly about any potential absences
