This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference as a Paraprofessional, working closely with students and educators to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Scheduled hours are 7:50 AM to 3:10 PM, providing a consistent workday within a rewarding school setting near Machesney Park, IL.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, preferably in an elementary setting
  • Understanding of child development, particularly for K-2 students
  • Ability to provide instructional and behavioral support under teacher guidance
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping children succeed
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or paraprofessional certification preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teacher in delivering instruction and classroom activities
  • Support individual and small group learning, adapting materials as needed
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment for students with diverse learning styles
  • Help implement behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Supervise students during classroom, lunch, and recess periods
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure all students’ educational needs are met
