Step into a rewarding educational role as a paraprofessional supporting students with visual impairments. This contract, part-time opportunity offers approximately 20 hours per week in an itinerant capacity, working closely with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). Your focus will be solely on assistance and facilitation for VI students—no general classroom duties or unrelated assignments. You’ll play an essential part in ensuring students receive specialized support tailored to their unique needs, helping them reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is highly preferred
• Familiarity with the needs of students with visual impairments is a plus
• Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to take direction from a TVI
• Reliable, self-motivated, and sensitive to student privacy and individual education plans
• Strong communication abilities to relay important information between students and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the TVI in delivering instructional materials and adapting resources for VI students
• Facilitate learning activities and help students access curriculum and classroom technology
• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance according to students’ individual needs
• Follow guidance on specialized devices or learning tools designated by the TVI
• Maintain clear documentation of student progress and feedback for the TVI’s review
• Work exclusively in partnership with the TVI, with no extraneous assignments outside this role
