This full-time, contract opportunity covers the remainder of the school year, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8am to 3pm, totaling 35-40 hours per week. Depending on the needs of the district, your role may include classroom support or direct 1:1 care for students in special education, including those who are medically fragile.

Key Requirements:

  • High school diploma or higher education credentials
  • Valid Illinois Para Educator License
  • Clean criminal background per state and school requirements
  • Demonstrated experience assisting K-12 students, preferably in special education
  • Strong, verifiable references from recent supervisor roles in similar educational settings
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine passion for supporting school-aged learners, especially those requiring additional care

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional and behavioral support in classrooms or to individual students
  • Assist with classroom management and adaptive learning tools
  • Support special education students’ personal, academic, and social needs, including those who are medically fragile
