An exciting opportunity is available for experienced paraprofessionals to make a difference in a specialized educational environment near Maple Grove, MN. This contract position supports students in a Setting 4 site, where learners receive Special Education services throughout their entire day and often present with the highest behavioral and complex needs. You’ll play a vital role providing hands-on, compassionate support to students ranging from elementary through high school age. Candidates must feel comfortable handling toileting support and be adaptable to serve various age groups.

Key Qualifications:

  • Highly Qualified Para Status:
    • Either pass the MN Para Educator Exam (attach score documentation),
    • Or have at least 60 college credits (attach official transcripts—diplomas do not suffice).
  • Experience as a paraprofessional working in school settings, especially with students who have significant disabilities or behavioral needs.
  • Willingness and ability to assist with toileting as required for full student care.
  • Dedication to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Flexibility to work with students from elementary through high school; please indicate age group preference if applicable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Resume and proof of Highly Qualified Para status required for consideration.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support instructional and behavioral needs of students in Special Education settings.
  • Implement classroom and behavior management strategies as directed.
  • Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to ensure individualized care.
  • Provide hands-on assistance, including mobility and daily living activities such as toileting.
  • Document and communicate student progress and incidents as needed.

This position offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, totaling 32.5 hours each week, beginning September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027. Compensation for this rewarding role is $20 per hour. After 422 hours as a contractor, you may be eligible for direct hire by the district.
