Begin your assignment in late August and enjoy a supportive environment while gaining hands-on experience with the potential for direct hire after the 90-day period.

In this position, you’ll have the chance to indicate your preferred school site—either Blaine High School or Champlin Park High School, among others. Each location has a unique team and atmosphere, helping you find the best fit for your skills and interests.

Qualifications:

  • Must be highly qualified as a paraprofessional by meeting ONE of the following:
    • Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (MN Para Educator Exam)
    • Completion of at least 60 college credits, with official transcripts required (copies of degrees or diplomas do not suffice)
  • Prior experience working with high school students is a plus
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist with all daily tasks, including toileting when needed
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams of educators and students

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in academic and social learning, adapting to a variety of classroom environments
  • Follow teachers’ instructions and implement individualized plans for students with special needs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere, modeling respectful and encouraging behavior
  • Assist with interventions, communication, and other support duties as assigned

Benefits:

  • Weekly schedule of 32.5 hours, Monday through Friday
  • Competitive pay: $20 per hour, depending on qualification and site assignment
  • Potential to convert to a direct hire position following your contract period
