Instructional Assistant - Maple Grove, Minnesota

This contract opportunity places flexible, adaptable Paraprofessionals within a vibrant school district near Maple Grove, MN, supporting students across multiple sites and grade levels. Six Float Substitute Paraprofessionals are needed to cover callouts throughout the district, ensuring continuous support within SPED classrooms and with students who have behavioral needs. Whether you're assisting in elementary, middle, or high school settings, you'll play an essential role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal candidates are passionate about helping students succeed and are comfortable working one-on-one or as classroom aides. The role may include supporting students with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and assisting with toileting as needed—flexibility and a proactive mindset are musts.

Qualifications:

• Meet highly qualified status by one of the following:
  • Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam
  • Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
• Prior experience in school and/or behavioral support settings
• Reliable transportation throughout the district
• Willingness to work with behavior needs and assist with toileting as necessary

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond quickly to sub and callout requests across specific district crews (Anoka, Blaine, Andover, Champlin Park, Coon Rapids, and Rivertrail Learning Center)
• Support students (1:1 or in group settings) and assist with activities of daily living and classroom support
• Foster a safe and supportive learning atmosphere for students with varied needs
• Maintain communication with crew supervisors regarding daily assignments
