1:1 Pediatric Instructional Assistant - Marina, California

This contract opportunity offers 35 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and extending through the end of the school year. As a paraprofessional, you’ll provide dedicated 1:1 support to an elementary student with extreme behaviors, working collaboratively with the educational team to promote a safe and productive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior experience in a school setting, ideally working as a paraprofessional
• Strong background in supporting students exhibiting aggressive behaviors
• Proven ability to implement strategies for behavioral management
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance
• Comfortable and willing to assist with toileting and personal care needs
• Genuine passion for working with children, displaying patience and empathy
• Experience in 1:1 pediatric roles is highly valued

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support and supervision to a student with high behavioral needs
• Assist the lead teacher and other staff in implementing behavior management plans
• Monitor student’s safety and well-being throughout the school day
• Foster social, emotional, and academic growth through positive reinforcement
• Maintain clear and timely communication with teachers, administrators, and student support teams
• Support the student with daily routines, including toileting and self-care tasks
• Model calm, responsive behavior in challenging situations
