This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to make an impact alongside dedicated educators in the greater Pittsburgh area, including Fox Chapel, Oakmont, Monroeville, Swissvale, and neighboring communities. Two paraprofessionals are needed: one supporting K-1 students and another working with grades 3-5, both in autistic support classrooms.

Candidates should be available to begin as soon as possible, continuing through June 5, 2026. Exact work hours align with your assigned school’s schedule.

Desired skills and experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or experience working in school settings preferred
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability when working with students with autism or special needs
• Ability to assist with classroom management, transitions, and provide support in a collaborative team environment
• Willingness to undertake support activities such as toileting assistance, aiding with classroom transitions, lunch duty, and stepping in to cover other paraprofessionals as needed
• Reliability and a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Key responsibilities:

• Offer direct support to students with autism in both classroom and small group settings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and other staff to carry out individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Support safe and structured classroom transitions and provide positive reinforcement
• Assist with personal care needs and daily living tasks as needed
• Assume duties such as supervising students during lunch and breaks
