As a dedicated Personal Care Assistant, you will work full-time, providing essential support and encouragement to students, helping create an inclusive and nurturing space. This contract opportunity begins on 8/24/26 and extends through 6/10/27, with consistent weekday hours from 7 am to 2:30 pm.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or personal care assistant, preferably in a school setting
- Passion for working with students on the autism spectrum
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to follow educational and behavioral plans under the guidance of special education staff
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training are a plus
- Commitment to maintaining student dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times
- Reliability and a supportive attitude
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist middle school students with daily classroom activities and social engagement
- Provide personal care and supervision according to individual student needs
- Help implement instructional strategies and behavior support plans
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to reinforce learning objectives
- Ensure a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
- Document student progress and communicate observations to the educational team
- Support classroom organization and transitions throughout the school day
