This is a full-time contract opportunity, offering 32.5 hours per week as a paraprofessional working within a developmental classroom. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is highly valued
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort working with students in developmental classrooms
- Ability to follow teacher-led instruction and individual education plans (IEPs)
- Patient, flexible, and committed to helping students achieve their goals
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional related coursework or certifications a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct assistance and instructional support to students in the classroom
- Help implement lesson plans and adapt materials under teacher guidance
- Foster a positive, nurturing environment that supports student growth
- Assist with classroom management and help maintain a safe, organized space
- Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with varying needs
- Assist with personal care or mobility as needed, depending on student requirements
- Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to track student progress and encourage independence
