Teacher's Aide - Meriden, Connecticut

Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a Para/Behavior Technician in a dynamic educational environment near Meriden, CT. In this full-time contract position, you’ll play a vital role in the everyday learning experiences of students on the autism spectrum and those facing behavioral challenges. Each classroom consists of 5-7 students, and each child receives dedicated 1:1 support, allowing for truly individualized care and attention.

Key Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience working in behavioral or special education roles
• Strong reliability and commitment to student success
• Ability to respond compassionately to mild to intense behavioral needs
• Comfort with assisting students who may require support with toileting
• Paraprofessional or similar related certification/experience
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide focused one-on-one guidance to students within a classroom setting
• Implement behavior intervention strategies as directed by classroom staff and specialists
• Assist teachers in creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment
• Support students in developing academic, social, and self-regulation skills
• Collaborate with special education teams to monitor each student’s progress
• Help maintain a safe and positive atmosphere for all classroom participants
