Step into a rewarding contract position supporting middle school students as a Personal Care Assistant for the upcoming 26/27 academic year. This full-time opportunity offers a consistent schedule from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, totaling 35 hours each week, spanning from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027. In this role, you’ll work within an autism support classroom, helping to foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for students at a critical stage in their educational journey.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience as a Paraprofessional or Personal Care Assistant, especially in a school setting
• Familiarity with supporting students on the autism spectrum or within special education environments preferred
• Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with middle school-aged children
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
• High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications in education or behavioral health a plus)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small-group assistance to students with autism, promoting independence and participation in classroom activities
• Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
• Support students with daily routines, self-care needs, and transitions between activities or locations
• Monitor student progress and communicate updates to the teaching team
• Foster a safe, positive, and respectful classroom atmosphere
• Help with instructional tasks as directed by the lead teacher or classroom staff
