Empower students and provide meaningful support for the upcoming 26/27 academic year as a contracted paraprofessional. This opportunity is perfect for someone passionate about assisting children with behavioral needs in a special day class. The assignment spans from August 10, 2026, to May 28, 2027, offering 32.5 hours per week, and focuses on building positive relationships with students while supporting their educational and personal growth.

Desired Experience & Skills:

• Previous experience as a paraeducator or paraprofessional in an educational setting
• Strong understanding of supporting students with behavioral needs, ideally within a special day class environment
• Ability to provide 1:1 assistance, tailoring support to meet the unique needs of an individual student
• Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred to best serve our diverse student population
• Compassionate, patient demeanor and effective verbal/nonverbal communication skills
• Flexible, collaborative approach to teamwork and problem-solving
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional college coursework or relevant certification is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Work one-on-one with a student, providing classroom assistance, encouragement, and individualized behavioral support
• Implement and reinforce teacher-provided lesson plans and behavioral strategies
• Help create and maintain a safe, encouraging, and respectful classroom environment
• Collaborate with educators and specialized staff to monitor student progress and adapt support strategies as needed
• Participate in regular team and parent meetings if required
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and activities throughout the school day
