This contract opportunity offers 32.5 hours per week, starting August 10, 2026, and ending May 28, 2027. This district is seeking an experienced paraeducator who is passionate about making a difference and equipped to work in a Special Day class environment supporting students with behavioral needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraeducator, preferably in Special Day class settings
• Understanding of and sensitivity to the unique needs of students with behavioral challenges
• Skilled in providing 1:1 support to individual students, fostering trust and promoting academic and social growth
• Bilingual Spanish speakers are highly preferred to best serve the diverse student population
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both students and educational staff
• Ability to remain patient, flexible, and positive in fast-paced situations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver dedicated 1:1 assistance to a student in a Special Day class, using behavioral strategies as needed
• Support instructional activities under the direction of teaching staff
• Assist with socialization, communication, and basic care needs to ensure student safety and wellbeing
• Encourage student participation and facilitate a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to track progress and adapt support strategies
• Assist with classroom management and organization for smooth daily operations
