Key Qualifications:
- At least two years of college credits from an accredited institution, or
- An associate degree or higher, or
- Passing score on a formal academic assessment (ParaPro, ParaPathways, The Master Teacher), or
- Demonstrated competencies per the Minnesota Department of Education-approved grid
- PCA certificate, or willingness to obtain one (free and quick to complete)
- Ability to provide proof of qualifications for interview consideration
- Commitment to attend a mandatory orientation held Wednesdays at 1:30pm
- Energetic, compassionate, and flexible, with a sincere interest in supporting students with special needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with supporting students’ educational and behavioral needs, especially within specialized “focus programs”
- Collaborate with certified teachers in creating a safe, nurturing and academically enriching environment
- Implement individualized education plans and modify activities as needed
- Deliver one-on-one or small group guidance to help students achieve academic and social goals
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with school policies
