Desired Qualifications:
- Must be recognized as a “highly qualified para”
- Meet at least one of the following:
- Completed a minimum of two years of college credits (60 semester credits or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Hold an associate degree or higher
- Successfully passed a formal Paraprofessional Assessment or completed a recognized Competency Grid (parapro test)
- Enthusiasm for supporting students with diverse needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to fostering a positive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support under the direction of certified educators
- Assist students with academic tasks, daily routines, and social interaction
- Adapt assistance based on individual student needs, strengths, and learning styles
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other school professionals to ensure student success
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
