School Paraprofessional – K–8 Special Education

Location: St. Paul, MN
Pay: $18.45–$25.56 per hour

Grade Levels: Kindergarten–8th Grade

Responsibilities

• Reinforce and reteach specially designed instruction individually or in small groups.
• Provide accommodations, modifications, and related supports as directed by certified staff.
• Observe, document, and collect data on student behavior, academic progress, and IEP goal attainment.
• Use approved de-escalation, crisis prevention, and intervention techniques consistent with district training and student behavior plans.
• Assist students with activities of daily living, including toileting, dressing, grooming, eating, and self-care.
• Support a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or experience may be preferred.
• Ability to support students with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication, patience, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to assist with personal care and follow student support plans.
• Must meet Minnesota school district employment requirements, including applicable background checks and required training.
