Desired Experience & Skills

• Prior experience as a Paraprofessional preferred, but a deep passion for helping students is essential
• Comfort assisting with toileting, diapering, feeding, hygiene, and dressing tasks
• Ability to remain calm and supportive when managing challenging behaviors such as aggression or elopement
• Skilled in following behavior support plans and using interventions as directed
• Committed to maintaining student privacy, dignity, and a respectful atmosphere
• Willingness to support students with mobility, transfers, and physical positioning following training
• Strong observation, tracking, and communication skills when working alongside educators and other staff

Key Responsibilities

• Provide close supervision in the classroom, cafeteria, hallways, and during all transitions
• Assist students with communication, school assignments, daily living, and social development
• Implement behavior strategies to support emotional regulation and student safety
• Track behaviors and progress, communicating regularly with teachers and specialists
• Uphold a calm, patient, and encouraging demeanor, even during stressful situations
