What We’re Looking For:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or comparable classroom support role is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics instruction, or reading readiness strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from classroom teachers.
• Attentiveness to the unique needs of students, particularly English Language Learners.
• Patience, empathy, and clear communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further coursework or credentials in education are desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons in reading, writing, and math, or supporting foundational reading skills.
• Support classroom management and engage directly with students, fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
• Provide individualized or small group instruction and encouragement, especially for students who may need additional help.
• Aid in preparing instructional materials and organizing classroom activities.
• Cultivate a respectful and inclusive environment that is sensitive to the diverse backgrounds and needs of each student.
