Instructional Assistant - Mission Viejo, California

As a Behavior Aide, you’ll work closely with students requiring 1:1 support across a range of behavioral needs, from mild/moderate to more complex challenges. Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Direct experience as a school-based Paraprofessional or Behavior Aide
• Background in supporting students with disabilities such as ADHD and Autism
• Solid understanding of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Skilled in positive interventions and behavioral redirection
• Collaborative approach with educators, therapists, and families
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to follow the standard school bell schedule (30 hours/week)
• Reliable transportation to commute as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver consistent, individualized behavioral and academic support to students
• Implement teacher- and therapist-developed plans to manage a range of behaviors, including elopement and general disruption
• Build rapport and maintain a supportive environment, using evidence-based strategies
• Observe, document, and report behaviors to the team
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions
