As a Behavior Aide, you’ll work closely with students requiring 1:1 support across a range of behavioral needs, from mild/moderate to more complex challenges. Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Direct experience as a school-based Paraprofessional or Behavior Aide
- Background in supporting students with disabilities such as ADHD and Autism
- Solid understanding of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Skilled in positive interventions and behavioral redirection
- Collaborative approach with educators, therapists, and families
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to follow the standard school bell schedule (30 hours/week)
- Reliable transportation to commute as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent, individualized behavioral and academic support to students
- Implement teacher- and therapist-developed plans to manage a range of behaviors, including elopement and general disruption
- Build rapport and maintain a supportive environment, using evidence-based strategies
- Observe, document, and report behaviors to the team
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions
