Special Education Para Professional in Napoleonville, LA

A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated paraprofessional to support a student with medical needs in a school setting. This contract assignment is onsite and runs from now through May 25, 2027, engaging with one student on a 1:1 basis each school day.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional in an educational environment
• Active Louisiana Para Certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to support students with complex medical backgrounds
• Medical background or prior experience assisting with mobility and physical adjustments highly desirable
• Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
• Ability to commit to a full-time schedule (Monday–Friday, 8am–3:30pm)

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for a student with Spina Bifida, including positioning, adjusting, and physically assisting throughout the day
• Monitor and address additional medical needs as they occur
• Collaborate closely with teachers, nurses, and related service providers
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
• Document interventions and communicate relevant information with the service team
• Attend and participate in training sessions as needed
