Position 1 is focused on 1:1 support for a student, along with additional coverage responsibilities as needed. Position 2 centers on classroom-based support, assisting teachers and engaging with students to enhance their educational experience. Both roles offer meaningful, hands-on involvement throughout the school day, from 7:50 AM to 2:10 PM.

Key Qualifications:

• Interest in working as a Paraprofessional within a school setting
• Willingness to provide individualized or classroom-based support
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• RBT certification is preferred, but we can assist you in obtaining this if you don’t already have it
• Candidates from all experience levels are encouraged to apply
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and staff
• Ability to reside on Block Island during the work week (Monday-Friday) due to ferry logistics

Responsibilities:

• Offer direct, compassionate support to individual students or groups
• Collaborate with teachers to reinforce lesson plans and provide classroom assistance
• Assist with implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) when applicable
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and support staff
