Instructional Aide - Naugatuck, CT

As a paraeducator, you'll play a key role in both 1:1 and classroom instruction, collaborating closely with lead teachers and supervisors. You'll help foster an inclusive, positive atmosphere, providing essential assistance to special education students according to their PPT and IEP plans. Flexibility, empathy, and a proactive mindset are essential, as your experience will help shape students' learning experiences. Please note that some support with toileting may be required.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or directly related role
• Paraprofessional Certification, Associate’s degree (or 60 credits), or higher
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and supervisors
• Commitment to supporting students with special needs
• Professionalism, initiative, and compassion in all interactions

Key Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 with students as well as within classroom groups
• Assist teachers in instructional activities and behavior management
• Help implement educational and behavioral strategies as determined by the student’s IEP and PPT
• Foster an encouraging and respectful learning environment
• Provide supervision and assist with daily living skills, including toileting as needed
