Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting classrooms as a paraprofessional for the 2026–2027 school year in Lehigh and Carbon Counties. Multiple opportunities are available across various districts and educational settings, including support for students with multiple disabilities, enhanced autistic support programs, and emotional support classrooms. Assignments are based on district needs, with consideration for your preferences whenever possible. Positions start with limited hours on August 10, 2026, progressing to a regular school schedule later in August and continuing through June 11, 2027, following the assigned district's calendar.
What we’re seeking:
- At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education setting
- Reside within a 35-minute commute of the assigned location
- Ability to work full school-day hours, with start times as early as 7:00 AM and late shifts finishing by 3:30 PM
- Must meet one of Pennsylvania’s paraprofessional qualification requirements (two years of post-secondary study, associate’s degree or higher, or rigorous local/state assessment), or be willing to complete certification within 60 days of hire
- Able to provide two strong supervisory references from paraprofessional roles
- Comfortable with physically supportive duties such as managing behaviors, assisting with elopement, lifting, and toileting as needed
- Reliable transportation and strong punctuality
Your day-to-day:
- Support individual students or small groups under the teacher’s direction
- Implement educational and behavioral interventions
- Assist with daily living skills and classroom routines
- Ensure student safety and foster classroom inclusion
- Adapt support strategies to evolving classroom needs
This is a contract position with weekly in-person interviews. Please note: assignments are confirmed once all clearances and certification requirements are met and approved.
