Instructional Assistant - Nazareth, Pennsylvania

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students for the 2026–2027 school year as a paraprofessional in Lehigh County, PA. Multiple positions are available in various local districts and specialized classrooms, with roles tailored to both district needs and, when possible, your preferences. The assignment spans from early August through June, following the traditional school calendar, with limited hours during Opening Day and Summer Academy, and regular hours resuming in late August.

This position involves a commitment of approximately 32.5–35 hours per week, supporting children and young adults with multiple disabilities or emotional needs. Candidates must reside within a 35-minute commute of their assigned location to ensure consistent attendance and responsiveness throughout the school day.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• At least one year of recent experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education setting
• Meets at least one Pennsylvania state paraprofessional qualification requirement (two years post-secondary study, associate degree, or passing a qualifying state/local assessment)
• Willingness to obtain PA paraprofessional certification within 60 days of hire if not already held
• Commitment to punctuality and consistent, reliable availability for the full school day as scheduled
• Understanding and acceptance of responsibilities including managing challenging behaviors, providing personal care assistance, and supporting inclusive learning environments

Responsibilities:

• Support students’ academic, behavioral, and physical needs as assigned
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and supervisors
• Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
• Provide personal care, lifting, toileting, and supervise elopement when needed
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive school community
