Teacher's Aide - Nazareth, Pennsylvania

An exceptional opportunity is available for dedicated and compassionate paraprofessionals to join a Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS) Level B classroom for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. This contract position is based at the Lehigh Learning Achievement School’s LCEA Program, supporting students with significant needs in a collaborative educational setting. Candidates must reside within approximately a 35-minute drive and be ready to provide hands-on academic, behavioral, and daily living support under the guidance of classroom staff.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or similar special education experience preferred
• Must meet one of the PA paraprofessional qualification criteria: 48 college credits, associate degree (or higher), or completion of an approved competency assessment
• Willingness to complete necessary PA paraprofessional certification within 60 days if not already qualified
• Ability to commit to a full school-day schedule (typically 7:00 AM–3:30 PM), 32.5–35 hours per week
• Comfortable and experienced with personal care, toileting, hygiene, feeding, mobility, and communication support
• Calm, patient, and consistent approach to addressing challenging behaviors (including hitting, spitting, biting, screaming, elopement attempts, etc.)
• Reliable commute and punctuality

Responsibilities:

• Support students with multiple disabilities in classroom routines and transitions
• Provide academic, behavioral, sensory, and daily living assistance
• Respond to and redirect challenging behaviors, implementing established safety protocols
• Partner with teaching staff to foster a positive, supportive learning environment
