Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role
• Strong understanding of social-emotional learning and strategies for working with students with behavioral or emotional needs
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to establish rapport and structure for young learners
• Outstanding communication skills for collaborating with families and school staff
• Creativity and adaptability to tailor sessions to each student’s needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Offer direct, 1:1 academic tutoring to a 2nd-grade student in a supportive and structured environment
• Utilize positive behavioral interventions and consistent routines to encourage engagement and task completion
• Collaborate closely with the student’s family to maintain communication regarding growth and progress
• Work within a flexible schedule—approximately 10 hours per week—at a local library, ensuring a calm setting for learning
