You’ll contribute to student success through both one-on-one and classroom-wide assistance. As a behavioral support specialist, you will foster positive learning experiences and provide meaningful guidance to the students who need it most.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- 1–2 years of previous experience in behavior support or special education environments
- Background in working with students on the Autism Spectrum or with behavioral challenges
- Ability to provide both 1:1 and group/classroom support
- Comfortable assisting with toileting and personal care as needed
- Adaptability, patience, and strong communication skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering one-on-one assistance to assigned students (working mainly with 5–7 students per classroom)
- Supporting students with mild to advanced behavioral needs
- Collaborating with teachers and support staff to carry out individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Promoting positive behavior strategies and encouraging social-emotional development
- Assisting with daily activities, classroom routines, and transitions
- Providing personal care, including toileting help, when required
