Classroom Aide | New Britain, Connecticut

Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs in a school-based setting near New Britain, CT. This onsite assignment runs from October 1st through November 30th, with a strong chance for extension. The position requires working closely in a one-on-one capacity with a student, providing guidance and assistance that can create lasting positive impact.

The weekly schedule includes Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, providing predictable hours and a supportive daily routine.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience or training working in a school or child guidance clinic, preferred
• Familiarity with social-emotional and behavioral support strategies
• Ability to build rapport with students and staff
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated patience and a positive mindset
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one assistance to a student with social-emotional and behavioral needs
• Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to support individualized education plans and daily routines
• Foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment
• Model positive behaviors and help guide the student through academic and social challenges
• Document progress and communicate regularly with multidisciplinary team
