Make an impact each day by supporting students in a specialized middle school setting as a paraprofessional. This rewarding role involves working closely with a female student on the autism spectrum and with complex learning needs, within a highly respected program dedicated to meaningful student growth. You'll collaborate with dedicated nurses and education professionals, ensuring students’ academic and daily living needs are met with compassion and professionalism.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit in hand; pending permits will not be accepted (must provide documentation if recently applied)
  • Experience or strong interest in supporting students on the autism spectrum and those with complex learning needs
  • Comfortable with feeding and toileting duties if the situation arises, in coordination with nursing staff
  • Willing and able to cover the $85 CBC fingerprinting requirement
  • Proactive communicator who can work well with a multidisciplinary team
  • If registered as a RBT, aware that external supervision for your certification is required outside of work hours (position and compensation will reflect a paraprofessional role)
  • Professional, patient, and adaptable in a structured classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional and behavioral support to a female middle school student within the BRIDGES program
  • Collaborate with educators, nurses, and therapists to create a nurturing learning environment
  • Implement individualized educational and behavioral strategies as outlined in the student’s plan
  • Assist as needed with feeding and toileting tasks
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of student progress and provided support
  • Work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:05am–2:55pm (35 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
