Instructional Assistant - New Castle, Delaware

This contract opportunity allows you to flex your skills as a floater paraprofessional, providing essential support where it’s needed most. Multiple float positions are available, covering a variety of school sites to ensure every learner experiences success in the classroom.

You’ll work a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week when school is in session Monday through Friday. Shifts are determined weekly, with schedules ranging between 7:05am and 3:40pm depending on the site (elementary, middle, high school, or specialized programs). This is an onsite role, perfect for adaptable professionals eager to collaborate and create positive learning environments.

In this role you will:

• Deliver supplemental classroom support and individualized attention for students as assigned by staff
• Adapt quickly to new settings, classrooms, and student needs as a floater covering multiple locations
• Partner closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators to promote inclusive educational experiences
• Uphold professional standards, maintain documentation, and support student safety and engagement

Preferred experience and requirements:

• DE Paraeducator Permit (must be current; candidates without this cannot be considered)
• Fingerprinting is required (candidate is responsible for $85 CBC fingerprinting fee)
• Experience as a school paraprofessional or similar support role strongly desired
• Comfortable working in varied K-12 environments
• If you hold an RBT, outside BCBA supervision is required (district will not provide)
