Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven experience working as a paraprofessional in a school environment
  • Familiarity with special education regulations, classroom best practices, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, educators, and families
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and interpret educational data
  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working with elementary students presenting challenging behaviors and physical disabilities
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive teaching strategies
  • Empathy, patience, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons and individualized education plans
  • Assist students with special needs academically, emotionally, and physically throughout the school day
  • Adapt teaching materials and strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
  • Monitor and document student progress through both formal and informal assessments
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and service providers, ensuring cohesive support for every student
  • Collaborate on data collection and contribute input during team meetings
