Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proven experience working as a paraprofessional in a school environment
- Familiarity with special education regulations, classroom best practices, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, educators, and families
- Demonstrated ability to collect and interpret educational data
- Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working with elementary students presenting challenging behaviors and physical disabilities
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive teaching strategies
- Empathy, patience, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons and individualized education plans
- Assist students with special needs academically, emotionally, and physically throughout the school day
- Adapt teaching materials and strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Monitor and document student progress through both formal and informal assessments
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and service providers, ensuring cohesive support for every student
- Collaborate on data collection and contribute input during team meetings
