Para Professional in New London, CT

Make a difference every day by supporting students with unique needs in an educational setting. Three full-time openings are available for talented and caring Paraprofessionals, with contract positions running from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027. Located near New London, CT, these roles offer a fulfilling opportunity to work closely with children who have complex disabilities, neurodevelopmental delays, and/or emotional and behavioral challenges.

Enjoy a weekday schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM (32.5 hours per week), with comprehensive training provided to help you thrive in the role.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children who have diverse and complex needs strongly preferred
• Associates degree or successful completion of the Para Pro exam is preferred (but not required for applicants with relevant experience)
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient, and consistent support to students
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 or 2:1 with students, supporting both academic and behavioral needs
• Assist teachers in executing instructional plans and adapted learning strategies
• Foster a supportive, positive, and inclusive environment for all learners
• Implement and reinforce behavior management strategies as directed
• Communicate student progress and observations to the educational team
• Help students with daily living or mobility skills when needed
