Your role will center around assisting in the supervision and instruction of special education students, ensuring their needs are met as outlined in their Personalized Program Plan (PPT) and Individualized Education Program (IEP). Flexibility and compassion are vital as some students may require assistance with toileting.
To excel in this position, the following qualifications are required:
- Prior hands-on experience as a paraprofessional or directly related field
- Valid Parapro Certification OR an associate’s degree (or a minimum of 60 college credits)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability, adaptability, and a supportive attitude
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct support to students individually and in group settings
- Collaborating with teachers and supervisors to implement instructional strategies
- Contributing to a safe and engaging classroom environment
- Offering support with aspects of daily living, including toileting when required
- Proactively observing and reporting student progress
