Instructional Assistant - New Milford, Connecticut

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working as a paraprofessional or in a closely related role
• Paraprofessional certification, or an associate's degree (or at least 60 college credits) or higher
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school environment
• Compassion and understanding for students with diverse needs
• Willingness to assist with personal care, including toileting, when necessary

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside lead teachers and supervisors to provide high-quality support for individual students and whole classrooms
• Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEP) and planning and placement team (PPT) recommendations
• Support students with special needs, helping them access curriculum and participate in classroom activities
• Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with the teaching team
• Maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment
• Provide assistance with daily living skills as required
