This role engages with both elementary and intermediate-level students, focusing on individualized support and classroom collaboration. As a Student Care Worker, you’ll play a vital role alongside lead teachers and supervisors, providing guidance and structure for students requiring behavioral and special education support.

Your primary focus will be on maintaining a positive, inclusive environment while delivering one-on-one and group assistance. Help shape meaningful academic and social experiences for students in grades K–5 and 6–8 as part of a caring, collaborative team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Must meet NCLB requirements:
    • Possess an Associate’s degree (or higher) or sufficient college credits
    • Or have successfully completed the Parapro Assessment Examination
  • Prior experience in school settings with behavioral or special education needs
  • Familiarity with educational plans (PPTs/IEPs) and implementing instructional supports
  • Ability to communicate, motivate, and build rapport with students and colleagues

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to assigned students as well as small group and general classroom assistance
  • Follow educators’ direction to help meet student learning goals
  • Monitor and positively reinforce appropriate behaviors
  • Participate in the supervision and instruction of students as directed in their IEPs and PPTs
  • Collaborate with teachers and supervisors in daily activities, offering insight and reporting on progress
