Support students in a dynamic school environment as a Student Care Worker, focusing on behavioral and special education support across elementary and intermediate levels. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with teachers, supervisors, and students in Grades K-12 to promote educational success and positive behavioral outcomes.

Location: New Milford, CT

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in supervising and instructing special education students according to PPT and IEP plans
  • Provide one-on-one support as well as classroom assistance alongside lead teachers and supervisors
  • Support student learning objectives and facilitate behavioral interventions within the classroom setting
  • Collaborate with educational staff to promote a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Must meet NCLB requirements by either:
    • Holding an Associate’s Degree or higher, or
    • Having earned sufficient college credits, or
    • Successfully passing the Parapro Assessment Examination
  • Prior experience in school behavioral or special education settings or directly related experience is essential
  • Ability to work with students across multiple grade levels (K-5, 6-8, 9-12)
