Classroom Assistant | New Orleans, Louisiana

Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Para/VOCO Facilitator supporting students in a dynamic educational environment near New Orleans. This full-time, contract position runs from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027, offering a chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of young learners. You’ll work closely with virtual school psychologists or speech-language pathologists, serving as a hands-on facilitator in the classroom. The assignment may span multiple schools, with specific caseload and age group details to be finalized.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Associate’s degree, or a ParaPro assessment score of at least 450, or a minimum of 48 semester hours of completed college coursework
• Direct experience in Special Education classrooms is required
• Ability to pass time-sensitive district credentialing (drug screening and fingerprinting)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
• Comfort with technology and virtual session facilitation
• Flexibility and adaptability to support various student and teacher needs

Role Responsibilities:

• Facilitate virtual sessions for psychologists or speech-language pathologists within the school setting
• Support students’ learning and participation during virtual interventions
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster a positive and effective learning environment
• Assist with classroom management, redirect attention as needed, and provide one-on-one or small group guidance
• Maintain required documentation and communicate student needs and progress
