Desired Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Paraprofessional certificate, 48+ college credits, or an associate’s degree (or higher) is ideal; if not currently held, must be willing to obtain a paraprofessional certificate within 60 days of hire
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to providing a safe and engaging classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Support instructional and classroom management activities under the supervision of the special education teacher
• Assist students with functional, academic, and behavioral skill development in a life skills classroom
• Encourage independence and engagement through positive behavior support strategies
• Prepare and organize materials to enhance daily lessons and activities
• Collaborate with faculty to implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Foster an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere
