Desired Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Paraprofessional certificate, 48+ college credits, or an associate’s degree (or higher) is ideal; if not currently held, must be willing to obtain a paraprofessional certificate within 60 days of hire
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to providing a safe and engaging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Support instructional and classroom management activities under the supervision of the special education teacher
- Assist students with functional, academic, and behavioral skill development in a life skills classroom
- Encourage independence and engagement through positive behavior support strategies
- Prepare and organize materials to enhance daily lessons and activities
- Collaborate with faculty to implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere
