This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to assist in a school environment, providing essential assistance to students and teachers during a leave of absence. You'll work on-site at a supportive high school, committed to providing quality education and a positive atmosphere for both staff and students.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must hold a current Delaware Paraeducator Permit; candidates with pending or in-process permits will not be considered
  • Prior experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting is highly desirable
  • Ability to build rapport with students and staff and maintain a positive, encouraging classroom environment
  • Comfortable supporting diverse learners and implementing accommodations under teacher direction
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing needs throughout the school day
  • Clear communication skills and dedication to professionalism

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct classroom support under the supervision of educators
  • Assist with daily routines, classroom management, and individual or small group instruction
  • Support students’ learning, social, and behavioral goals
  • Foster a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment
  • Implement teacher-directed strategies and monitor student progress
  • Collaborate effectively with staff and communicate student needs

Role Details:

  • Contract position; start ASAP, coverage through September 21st
  • Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week (30-minute unpaid lunch)
  • Requires onsite presence at a local high school

Additional Information:

  • Candidates must pay $85 for CBC fingerprinting and confirm awareness of this requirement before submission
  • If credentialed as an RBT, district and agency cannot provide supervision for your certification outside of para duties
