1:1 1:1 Care Special Education Para Professional in Newark, NJ

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, especially in a school setting
• Strong background in 1:1 care, preferably with pediatric or school-aged populations
• Understanding of educational and behavioral support strategies
• Reliable, patient, and flexible with excellent communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and families
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting student dignity

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, individualized support to a student throughout the school day
• Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and transitions
• Provide behavioral and emotional encouragement as needed
• Help implement educational plans under the guidance of certified staff
• Support the student’s participation, social skills, and engagement in classroom routines
• Monitor and document progress and behaviors, sharing insights with the educational team
• Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for the student
