Step into a dynamic school environment, working onsite in an intensive elementary classroom dedicated to supporting students in grades K-3 with varying disabilities, including language delays and autism spectrum disorder. In this contract role, you will collaborate as part of a cohesive team of paraprofessionals, ensuring that each student’s unique needs are met with care and attention.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an educational setting, particularly working with children requiring additional behavioral or academic support
• Ability to fulfill all Para requirements as outlined by Rhode Island Department of Education
• Comfortable assisting with personal care, including toileting and diapering, as needed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, collaborating with other teaching assistants in a group rotation
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping young learners thrive
• Reliable and professional, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom

Core Responsibilities:

• Support classroom instruction for K-3 students, adapting to a range of learning styles and abilities
• Provide individualized attention and implement behavioral or academic plans under teacher guidance
• Assist with daily classroom routines and transitions, contributing to a positive and organized learning environment
• Engage in group collaboration with six other teaching assistants, sharing responsibilities across the classroom
• Assist with toileting and hygiene, ensuring students’ dignity and health
• Follow school policies and DOE regulations to maintain high standards of student care and safety
