This opportunity is open for an engaged and dedicated Paraprofessional with American Sign Language (ASL) skills to provide personalized, one-on-one support to a Kindergarten student in a supportive early childhood classroom near Nixa, MO. Your role will directly impact a child’s education journey—helping to promote communication, academic achievement, and social growth through individualized instruction and positive reinforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer 1:1 assistance to a Kindergarten student, supporting classroom participation and learning
  • Utilize fluent ASL to bridge communication needs and facilitate real connections
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to nurture a welcoming, inclusive environment
  • Support social, emotional, and academic development with enthusiasm and patience
  • Adapt approaches to help each child reach their full potential

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Warm, patient, and passionate about helping young learners thrive
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language highly preferred
  • Active listening and clear communication skills, with a flexible approach
  • Background in early childhood education, special education, behavioral support, or similar environments beneficial
  • Missouri DESE Paraprofessional or Substitute Certificate preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work Monday–Thursday/Friday, approximately 30 hours per week
  • Dependable transportation and strong punctuality
  • Comfortable sitting or standing on the floor for student interaction
