Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional in school settings preferred.
- Familiarity with special education or working alongside a TVI is highly valued.
- Positive, patient, and supportive demeanor when assisting students.
- Dependable transportation and flexibility for travel between sites.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow guidance from the TVI.
- Commitment to professional boundaries—role is exclusively to assist the TVI in supporting visually impaired students.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the TVI to facilitate classroom activities and ensure students’ needs are met.
- Provide direct support and encouragement to visually impaired students, guided by the TVI’s instructions.
- Prepare and adapt educational materials as needed to enhance accessibility.
- Maintain consistent communication with the TVI regarding student progress and needs.
- Travel between sites as part of the itinerant assignment, providing assistance wherever the TVI’s support is needed.
- Focus exclusively on duties related to VI student support—no other school tasks will be assigned.
