Instructional Assistant - Normal, IL

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in a school or classroom setting as a paraprofessional, teacher’s aide, or similar role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, educators, and families
• Ability to adapt to various classroom needs, including working with students with diverse learning abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or associate’s degree in education or related field is a plus
• Patience, organizational skills, and a positive, encouraging attitude

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teachers during instruction and activities
• Assist students with classwork, organization, and comprehension, individually or in small groups
• Help implement lesson plans and classroom routines
• Provide classroom management and reinforce behavioral expectations
• Assist with modifying materials and activities to meet students’ individual needs
• Foster a welcoming and safe classroom environment for all students
