Teacher's Aide - North Adams, Massachusetts

This opportunity offers several paraprofessional positions supporting students with diverse learning and developmental needs in a K-12 school setting located in North Adams, MA. These contract roles span the current school year and involve working closely with students both one-on-one and in small group classroom environments.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing one-on-one support to students with significant developmental and social-emotional challenges, including non-verbal students and those in life skills programs
• Assisting in classrooms for elementary, middle, and high school grades, supporting for example 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade general education classrooms
• Supporting one or two 11th grade students with intensive needs, potentially with 2:1 assistance
• Collaborating with educators and other staff to implement individualized plans and promote student progress and inclusion
• Adapting to a variety of student needs, such as students recovering from serious injuries and requiring specialized care

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar classroom support role
• Comfort working with students with a range of developmental, social-emotional, and physical disabilities
• Ability to implement behavioral supports and assist with life skills development, particularly for students who are non-verbal
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers and therapists
• Flexibility and patience to meet the evolving needs of students throughout the school year

Schedules:

• Elementary positions generally from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
• Middle and high school positions generally from 7:58 AM to 2:29 PM
