This opportunity is for paraprofessionals in a school setting, located in North Adams, MA. The position is contract-based and offers various assignments supporting students at different grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal 4th grade student in the Developmental Program (Elementary)
- Assist in 5th/6th grade classroom support with the potential for two openings
- Support a 5th grade student in the Social Emotional Program, with Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credentials beneficial but not required
- Offer 1:1 assistance to a possibly returning 11th grade student with paralysis and limited arm/hand use due to a recent accident (needs may evolve)
- Help a non-verbal 7th grade life skills student with 1:1 support
- Assist in classroom support roles for 7th/8th and potentially 11th/12th grades
- Provide 2:1 support for two 11th grade students as needed
Desired Experience:
- Prior paraprofessional experience working with diverse student needs
- Comfort supporting students with developmental, social-emotional, and physical challenges
- Ability to adapt to various classroom and 1:1 settings across grade levels
- Patience, compassion, and strong communication skills
- RBT certification is a plus but not essential
Location:
- North Adams, MA
Schedule:
- Elementary hours: 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
- Middle/High School hours: 7:58 AM to 2:29 PM
