Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in schools, daycare, or similar environments is preferred
  • Confidence in managing behaviors and providing care for elementary school children
  • Teacher Assistant candidates must hold valid New York State certification
  • Teacher Aide applicants do not require certification
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, assisting with mobility, and diapering for younger students
  • Patience, compassion, and excellent communication skills are essential
  • Must provide completed manager references prior to the interview process

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers by assisting students with daily activities and learning tasks
  • Provide individualized attention to students who require additional support
  • Help maintain a structured, positive environment and implement behavioral strategies as directed
  • Assist with daily care needs, including diapering and other personal care for young children
  • Foster encouraging relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Contribute to a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere
