Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in schools, daycare, or similar environments is preferred
- Confidence in managing behaviors and providing care for elementary school children
- Teacher Assistant candidates must hold valid New York State certification
- Teacher Aide applicants do not require certification
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, assisting with mobility, and diapering for younger students
- Patience, compassion, and excellent communication skills are essential
- Must provide completed manager references prior to the interview process
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers by assisting students with daily activities and learning tasks
- Provide individualized attention to students who require additional support
- Help maintain a structured, positive environment and implement behavioral strategies as directed
- Assist with daily care needs, including diapering and other personal care for young children
- Foster encouraging relationships with students, staff, and families
- Contribute to a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere
