Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, particularly in school settings
- Demonstrated success supporting high school students
- Familiarity working with individuals with high functioning autism
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow educational plans and adapt to student needs
- Commitment to fostering a positive, respectful, and encouraging learning atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 academic support to a high school student throughout the school day
- Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to implement instructional strategies and accommodations
- Encourage independence and self-advocacy skills in line with the student's educational plan
- Assist with organization, assignment completion, and class participation
- Model positive social skills and assist with peer interactions when needed
- Monitor progress and communicate feedback to the educational team
