Embark on a rewarding role supporting students in a dynamic school environment close to Norwich, CT. This full-time paraprofessional opportunity spans the academic year from 8/24/26 to 6/11/27, with a Monday-Friday schedule, 8:15 am–3:15 pm, totaling 32.5 hours per week. There are three openings available for dedicated professionals passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children.
Your focus will be on 1:1 or 2:1 support for students with complex disabilities, neurodevelopmental delays, or emotional and behavioral challenges. Comprehensive training will be provided, equipping you with the skills and confidence needed for success in this important position.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Associate’s degree or successful completion of the Para Pro exam preferred (experienced candidates without these credentials will also be considered)
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, positive learning environments
- Previous experience working with children with disabilities, neurodevelopmental, or behavioral needs is a plus
- Strong communication and rapport-building abilities
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in supporting student growth
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized or small-group assistance to students in classroom and school settings
- Implement instructional and behavioral plans under teacher and specialist guidance
- Support students’ academic, social, behavioral, and personal care needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation as required
