Instructional Aide in Norwich, CT

Step into a rewarding role supporting students in a dynamic Pre-K to Grade 8 school setting as a contract paraprofessional. This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, allowing you to maintain work-life balance while making a difference.

In your current placement, you will primarily provide resource and in-class special education support for students in grades K-2. You'll have the opportunity to foster a nurturing environment, lend your expertise in tailored support, and help each child reach their fullest potential.

Looking ahead, you may also play a critical role in assisting in a special needs program—providing custodial care and personalized 1:1 support in collaboration with a registered nurse, ensuring the well-being and growth of the students entrusted to your care.

What we're seeking:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or in special education support roles
• Familiarity with Pre-K through grade 8 student needs
• Ability to provide patient, compassionate, and flexible support in resource and in-class settings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to respecting confidentiality and building positive relationships with students and staff

Key responsibilities:

• Support individualized educational and behavioral plans for students in grades K-2
• Assist classroom teachers and special educators with daily activities and lesson implementation
• Provide 1:1 support for students with special needs, including custodial care under the direction of a nurse
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
